How It Works
North Bethesda Primary Care is based upon a very simple idea: there is no substitute for time when it comes to excellent medical care. For your doctor to best serve you, it takes time to learn not just your medical history, but also your unique situation and what’s important to you. However, because insurance pays very little for primary care, most insurance-based primary care practices are compelled to see a high volume of patients, leaving precious little time per patient.
Enter North Bethesda Primary Care – with our time-intensive, one-on-one, concierge doctor services.
Concierge Medical Care Membership
North Bethesda Primary Care does not accept insurance. Instead, we charge a flat fee of $2,275 per year per patient, regardless of age or health status.
During each membership year, this fee includes:
- One preventive healthcare assessment and exam
- Up to 10 in-person office visits (not counting lab draws, blood pressure checks, and weight checks)
- Unlimited portal messaging, phone calls, and telehealth video visits
- On-site rapid tests (e.g., flu, strep throat, urine dipstick)
- On-site screenings (e.g., ECG as clinically indicated)
- Influenza vaccination (while supplies last)
- Blood and urine collection, including if ordered by other providers (excludes cost of tests)
- Coordination of care
Office visits beyond the 10 included in the annual membership fee will be charged at the rate of $300 each.
Concierge Medical Care FAQs
Concierge medicine is primarily concerned with service. It’s about receiving high-quality healthcare when and where you need it, by a doctor who knows your medical history and personal preferences. With concierge care, you receive much more time and attention from your doctor than you would at an insurance-based practice. You also have the ability to message the doctor at any time with questions or request same-day or next-day appointments when needed. All of this is possible because your concierge care doctor charges patients an annual membership fee instead of accepting insurance.
Yes, unfortunately you can only select one of our amazing doctors as your primary care physician! The one you choose will be the doctor with whom you will interact except in the rare instance your doctor is out of the office and you have an urgent issue that cannot wait for his/her return.
There are numerous benefits to enrolling with our membership-based concierge practice, including up to 10 in-office visits in a membership year, plus unlimited remote care via telehealth and other forms of communication with Dr. Possner and Dr. Zeki. In-office rapid-result tests and blood draws are also included. See additional benefits listed above, under Membership.
Patients who are enrolled with us are responsible for the cost of laboratory tests (e.g., blood tests, urinalysis), diagnostic imaging (e.g., X-rays, MRIs), and medical treatments (e.g., medication, surgeries or procedures). In addition, any subspecialty care or emergency medical care you require – such as a referral to a cardiologist or a trip to the ER – is not a part of our membership. Most patients choose to pay for these services through their insurance.
Yes. Our patients use health insurance to cover the cost of the services we do not provide, such as lab tests, diagnostic imaging, and any subspecialty or emergency care. North Bethesda Primary Care's concierge care membership is NOT insurance.
Please check with your insurance company. If your insurance provides out-of-network reimbursement, we can provide you with a superbill that you can submit for the value of each in-person visit.
As your primary care physician, Dr. Possner or Dr. Zeki will communicate with the hospital staff and will advocate on your behalf. However, Dr. Possner and Dr. Zeki do not treat patients in the hospital as part of North Bethesda Primary Care.
